Myth #1- If you want to lose weight you shouldn't eat carbs.
Carbohydrates are an essential fuel source for exercise.  Without enough carbs in your diet you will struggle to exercise at a high enough intesity to stimulate fat loss.  To lose weight you need to consume the "good" nutrient-dense low-glycemic carbohydrates at the right times and  in the right amounts.  Contrary to popular belief, carbs are not bad...  However, certain carbs can make it very difficult to lose weight.

Myth #2- Using lighter weights for higher repetitions leads to a lean and defined look.
Using lighter weights for higher repetitions builds muscular endurance, but it does little in terms of creating a lean physique.  That "lean" look that many of us desire is created by burning enough subutaneous fat so that your muscular system is visible.  To get rid of subutaneous fat you need to expend more calories than you consume on a daily basis.  This can be done by exercising several days/week, improving your resting metabolic rate, and changing your dietary habits.  ,
